Folks, I'm back from nowhere after a month. Wow!! A lot of updates while I was away from cyberworld.
From my understanding, it was a political issue which cut me off from the online world. I was a loyal* customer of Hathway but they needed to close down their operations in Chennai without any prior notice. I couldn't even reach their customer service and was quite frustrated. After many attempts to contact them, I could finally get in touch with one of their representatives and he simply told me that it's due to a political issue and was afraid to make further comments. I figured out later that it was due to this bullshit.
As soon as I realized that there's no more Hathway, I was in touch with other service providers like Airtel, Tata Indicom...etc. I really wanted to have Airtel connection as they provided landline telephone at no charge along with Broadband. However, they didn't have a service in my area so they left me with no other choice but to find another service provider.
One evening when I was back from work, I found an ads left on my doorstep. It was from Airtel and I called them up right away. The very next day, one of their representatives came to my house and collected the necessary documents for a new connection. It was August 6, 2009 when he promised that they'd DEFINITELY give me a new connection by August 15.
The big day came but with no words from them. I called them and was informed that it will take another week to have the distribution box opposite to my house activated. He said, "We will DEFINITELY come and give a new connection by August 23." We're patiently waiting until the deadline and yet no words from them. It was the day that I realized what DEFINITELY was for these people.
Days passed but we're getting nowhere fast so I called them again. They said it would take another 10 days to activate the box. Finally on September 4, I got a new connection after I had enough of conversation with them. I'd better not mention all the detailed conversation and promises I received such as call backs which never happened. How great thou art!

hahaha... political issue victim chu i ni chiang khawp mai. lolz. Yup I know how hard it is to get internet connection even in the metros when you stay at an area that the ISP barely cover. I used Hathway in B'lore and I loved it. Here in Mumbai its either Tata Indicom Photon or Reliance and we are always on the move so we dont use those direct line connections anymore.
Oh..if you always move from place to place, you'll never get a personal loan.
Hathway chu keipoh Hyderabad ah khan ka hmang thin alawm. Mahse ka hriat sual loh chuan Hathway leh Sify ho chu ethernet cable pakhat te chauh an rawn dah tawp a, router etc vel engmah a tel lo. Chuvangin trek (lightning) lakah a himlo deuh in ka hria. (I know this from experience. Had my laptop motherboard fried by a lightning back in 2006 when I used Sify).
Now I'm using Airtel which I think is not bad at all. They can even collect the bill from your place for around Rs 20. You just call them up and they'll come within 2hrs. And the fact that you have a landline phone is very useful when you dont have time to recharge your mobile.
I was a victim of Destiny ti law law teh :))
