A Child's Prayer

A prayer of a girl, whose mom been drinking since she was a kid.

I've been praying since I was three,
If my mom would stop drinking,
But no answers until now,
Is it in vain what I have asked?

I kneel down on my knees before you,
Please hear me Oh Lord this time,
Can't you see that I'm crying?
Why can't you stop mom from all these?

I even asked that you take my life,
Hoping that mom would be good,
Am I forgotten? I hope not,
I'm too weak to be forgotten.

Lord hold mom's hand and lead her way,
Help her getting through this pain,
I do not wish more than this,
That my mom would stop drinking

I didn't ask mom to be like mary,
I only wish if she stops drinking,
I hope you'll grant my wish this time,
That I and mom would be happy.

Mom look at me, here I'm crying,
How long do you want me cry?
Drop the glass before it's late,
We're watching you coming home.

ooo... this is sad. All the more so because there really are little children who go through this, and they're robbed of their innocence so early on in life, becoming disillusioned and jaded before their time.
